There are not many things more romantic in this world than Valentines day in the mountain, and not many more places more ideal than Vail, Co to create special memories with the love of your life.

We asked around the shop and here are some of our staff’s favorite things to do on Valentines day!

Cary Myers: Leave the warehouse with split-board on back, ride the fat tire up to the base, 6:00 AM skin up the mountain, pack up, ride back, work, the girls love it!

Tracy Sample: After skiing all day with my husband on Vail, I like to go back to where he proposed, and hike up to the top of Upper Simba, take in the gorgeous views and then skiing down and grabbing a beer and nachos in Lionshead Village.

For a treat of a romantic night out, we like to go restaurant hopping and tasting all the delicious appetizers or tapas between Vail Village and Lionshead. I look forward to desserts and getting a creme brulle at La Tour, and then fried ice cream at Matsuhisa.

Some other local favorites include celebrating Valentine’s Day at the Hotel Gasthof Gramshammer. From February 14-17 guests can enjoy the Gasthof Room with a complimentary bottle of wine, chocolates & $50 towards a romantic dinner at our restaurant during your stay.

Vista in Arrowhead serves some of the most amazing Tuscan-inspired food. If you’re looking for something nice but that isn’t going over the top with the Valentine’s Day theme this could be the place.

For those wanting to create the ultimate Valentines experience try Eagle Ranch, enjoy an open horse-drawn sleigh ride, and some of finest cooking this side of the Continental Divide. The ranch will pick you up and drop you off at your home or hotel and whisk you away to your Colorado fantasy. Check out a million stars in the endless night sky while snuggling under cozy blankets for an unforgettable sleigh ride in our private ranch setting. Enjoy a drink by the open-hearth fire in the historic Nelson Cabin.

If you happen to be looking to pop the question while on your romantic vacation may we suggest Game Creek. Located in Vail’s scenic Game Creek Bowl, this European chalet is the perfect for a romantic, cozy dinner for two. Take a short ride up the Eagle Bahn Gondola to Eagle’s Nest, where you will be taken by snowcat to the restaurant.
