A Skiing Legend
M5 Mantra
The Mantra is not a new name in the ski world. This model has been around for some time and with good reason. It started as a stiff, agressive all mountian ski for those retired ski racers looking for a ski that could go anywhere at top speed. The problem was that it didn’t like slower speeds at all. They then released it in a full rocker model that appealed more to the masses but lost its high stability feel for the ones that first fell in love with it. The newest model has taken the best of these two models. Volkl took the last model that was full rocker and tossed back in camber under foot. They also kept Titinal in the mix but thinned it out to give it a medium/stiff flex. This change with the full sidewall construction really gives the ski great edge grip on hard pack but is easier to ski in the soft stuff and variable conditions thanks to the tip and tail rocker. It is now truely a do it all “Swish Army Knife” of skis. Go sking with the whole family on some greens and blues then take a hard left on that double black and meet back up at the lift.
